**
Are you ready to get Started in Entertainment Business?
**
Before
we go on farther We will give you the list of what to do and
what not to do,,,very informative page. before we start answer
this
step
1: Choose Schools
it's highly
recommended to take some classes not only will help you on
your technique, they help you discover who you are and realize
your potentials and grow as a person.
It's also rewarding to be with same interested mind. If you
are in school find out other schools around and what they
offer.your instructor advise will be very helpfully.
In LA
area yellow pages they are many classes advertise you can
find it under SCHOOL. you can also call around and find out
and see if your local theater offer classes its very helpful
to be in artistic environment.
step
2: Get some
work.
After you got your feet wet going school and learn the technique
now you are ready to get some work, should it be paying or
non paying you don't car you need to fill out your resume
and first hand experience in the industry, this is merely
to test your talent and build your self a good and strong
portfolio we have daily casting calls and audition information
in Los Angeles, look us up.
step
3: Create
your Portfolio.
Now you need to create your own first portfolio "yuppi"
with lots of pictures and biography of you and if you have
any experience its fine if not, you should know that
few talent have been picked for their particular looks
and age not to much on experience but you should know that
taking some classes is good for your growth "faster"
so take some lessons.
A:
Need BIO/Resume.
If you
have any experience in school or theatre (small or big) list
your jobs very neatly typed and formatted. You should include
information on where the production was performed such as
address, tel, and related info and what part you played. remember
more info in bio/resume will get the most picked.
B:
Picture time
Every
Talent who's actively looking for a job must have a picture
taken (head shot. comp card and what have you ) starting up
small you don't have to spend lots of dollars not knowing
what will happen. As long as the photos are in good quality
and you need 8x10 print, black and white, if its in a digital
format you will save money and not to mention the good quality
and web and print friendly, you need clear shot picture of
your face, and the picture looks like you (no characters),
not to much make up, simplicity is the key to reach your success,
when you take the pictures its very important that you have
a plenty rest night before your shoot, eat healthy, Dont
put on makeup before you get to the studio. your hair and
makeup should be done by a professional. Wash your hair before
you come to the photo shoot. get up early if you can be comfortable
as much as you can, breath deep, and relax. learn to meditate
and do yoga.
If you
are going to lots of audition as a talent you probably need
few hundred pictures to start with and is suggested that take
than one head shot if its possible and it will be a good idea
if you can get a thumbnail version of your pictures to take
home to study and select the right one/s, consult with friends
and family. Any photo places can do multiple copies of your
photos make sure to see some of their example of work before
proceed ahead. ask us for more info.
step
4: Promoting
yourself
this means you have to nock lots
of doors and one shall open and here it comes your big break
:)
You should keep in mind that the best source and most effective
communication in this days is called INTERNET, we have been
dealing with Lots of agents and casting directors and most
of them rely on internet for
their talent and you should too. Entertainment
Industry looking for local talent more than any other ways
possible and internet is giving them a chance to view talent
portfolio over hundred a day its fast and easy they can see
pictures, head shots read BIO and resume listen to audio clips
and watch video clips and see more personal info about the
talent and direct email make it easy to pick their talent
from around the world in the matter of second, so We think
that is the best way and not to mention the low cost to do
all that for more info regarding website design please visit
our Services for more detail.
For staring on INTERNET? you need:
1) Register name (www.yourname.com)
2) Website design ( Graphics and text about you and your work)
3) Promoting your name (www.yourname.com)
step
5: Interaction
with Public is a must
Also its a good idea to create some:
credits
for your resume, network with others, maximize your exposure
to industry professionals, learn the art and craft , and mostly
love doing it, have fun. Few companies advertise their auditions
in a local paper as well, you can also call some production
company and ask about amateur productions and dates that they
do auditions. If they are auditioning, don't forget to ask
about what they require you to prepare for your audition.
or try some extra work its good to be in that environmental
if you are a talent? breath it, feel it and live it.
step
5:
Becoming
a Professional
There are
no rules for success if you follow the steps that you just read
so far, be sure the hard working pays off but you have to do
some work to become a professional industry as a talent. express
your artistic side and if you have everything ready and some
credits and some good comments from people that saw your performance,
but take it slowly and learn the industry before you walk in
as I said working hard pays off faster call your local theatre
companies and ask about when they hold a general audition "usually
once a year in most cases". and ask about restrictions
and preparations for incoming audition.and if you feel confidant
enough, why not go for it.
